So I've been replaying the whole series (backwards, don't ask me why, lol) recently, I'm also currently reading Tevinter Nights, and I have to say, I'm feeling that gaming hype again.
Initially I was pretty sceptical about the game considering that the two last games were Andromeda and Anthem and there were a lot of changes in the dev team.
But reading Tevinter Nights - so a book in which stories are written by people responsible for the plot and specific characters in the Veilguard, I actually am quite optimistic. There are so many little and big hints regarding what we will see and what might be brewing in Tevinter and other regions, so many incredibly creative concepts and some of them even more creepy than the Broodmother from DAO. One of the stories - The Wigmaker - is something straight up from a horror book.
All in all, it proves that writers responsible for DA: The Veilguard are really talented and the only reason I play Bioware games was always the story and characters of their games.
To think that we will finally get more information regarding the Veil, the Fade, Evanuris, whether the Black City was ever Golden or was it always tainted, did Tevinter mages cause the Blight or was it caused by Elven "gods" known as "Forgotten Ones" trapped deep in the ground by Solas. I just cannot wait to get my hands on new Codex entries and read every little piece of information.
And also I'm already charmed by Neve. She is apparently stoic, so my sarcastic mage Rook will be a perfect balance for her. The way she was presented in the gameplay reveal and in her story in Tevinter Nights is already making her my favourite of the new people. Characters were always a high point of any Bioware game (even Andromeda!) so meeting new characters is always something I look forward to.
I just had to get it off my chest, because most of the gaming communities seems to be really hostile towards Bioware.
So, anyone else cannot wait for the Veilguard?
