Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete

I haven't touched New Horizons since 2022. I'm dreading loading it up to find my character's house full of cockroaches, and all the animals are pissed at me (LOL).
For those of you who have played this, is it worth playing? I don't normally play mobile games because I hate touchscreen controls and the monetization schemes, and I'm an ancient person who only likes controllers/ keyboard and mouse. But I do love a good distraction, and the animals are cute. Please come on my lawn and tell me about what you liked and didn't like about it.
