Advice WantedWhat’s the verdict on Greenhouses?
Another speculative question for you gynes!
Have you used a greenhouse (or even built your own) before? If you have, what has the experience been like for you?
In my seasonal climate where the fall and winter can be very cold (with shit soil…my zones are 6b and 7a), a greenhouse might be desirable in the future (especially if I want to be able to grow a fig tree without having to dolly a heavy pot inside 🤪).
Not only that, but I’d probably be able to grow more ambitious things like dragonfruit and citrus.
They know we're doing thoughtcrimes. ha!
When you read feminist theory and post on ovarit, it becomes organized thoughtcrime. Such very illegal crimes.
Ooh that just brought to mind a quote about Lord Vetinari, one of my favourite Discworld characters: “Crime was always with us, he reasoned, and therefore, if you were going to have crime, it at least should be organized crime.“
I love me some Terry Pratchett, and Vetinari is very fine, but I would prefer disorganized crime, please. In roundworld, organized crime is some of the most violent and terrifying of all male behaviour, no? I am thinking of drug cartels, pimps, slavers and people smugglers. They have to be ultra violent to dissuade rivals and witnesses because they cannot call on the law to protect their 'business' and 'property' like the rest of us can.
Absolutely. I wouldn’t want it either, even with the guilds Vetinari encourages. I just liked the quote wrt us having organised thoughtcrime.

The one thing I like about Contrapoints is his irritation with pronoun circles- like, I have long hair and nails and makeup and boobs and facial feminization surgery and girly clothing and a modulated voice, you should be able to guess I want to be "she" from this pile of cues.

Talking directly to a person I use you, when talking about a man I use he and with a woman I use she. Calling yourself a nb doesn't change the fact that you are female or male. I just love how they can tell that even their "allies" don't really believe in their identities (hence, the performative over-use of pronouns). I just love knowing they know they're getting clocked like Big Ben lol.

Agree with other commenters on the narcissism. And agree with the author in that you really can see people falling all over themselves to virtue signal. It’s like when hardcore Christians fall all over their posts to capitalize the H in his when referring to Jesus/God’s pronouns. Gotta pander to your cult!
Note: I live in the Deep South so I see the “it is His will” bs a lot on social media and things like Next Door (really), I’m not religious and don’t run in right wing circles. It’s just as unavoidable as TRA bs for me.
