I’m planting raspberry bushes as hiding places for bunnies, and I read that mint plants are good grown around raspberries because it deters bugs. But I’m worried they’ll also deter the bunnies…
There’s a ton of development in my area and the bunnies and other wildlife are sadly being forced out of the woodlands and into neighborhoods. I would like my garden to be a refuge for them.
If you want mint, you want plastic buckets
Cut the bottom off the buckets, bury in garden with an inch sticking up, fill with soil, plant mint
Mint is v diff to get rid of otherwise
I have an ever expanding mint patch but dont care cos it is dead space
I’m obsessed with mint and want to collect all the varieties. I’m sure I’ll end up regretting it (my mom keeps saying I will) but I want my mint to spread far and wide!
I have plenty of mint and lots of deer and bunnies. The rabbits eat everything they can (my poor hostas start to unfurl every year and then are crew cut to oblivion by the backyard snackers
Okay awesome! Good to know (and yep, those wabbits always eat the first leaves off my roses lol)
Probably not. I have a decent sized mint patch, plus a healthy rabbit population. A bit too healthy for my liking…… but at this point it’s live and let live.
Probably as much as it deters bugs (not at all). Mint will also invade the rest of your garden! Be really, really sure you want to have mint forever if you do it, but here are some alternatives and warnings about mint
I love my mint so much and I want it to spread far and wide lol! Every time I spot a variety I’ve never seen before I HAVE to have it! They’re like Pokémon for me.
