Advice WantedAccidentally bought swamp milkweed - can I still plant it?
Posted May 16, 2024 by MaryDyer in Gardening

This is the second time I accidentally bought a swamp milkweed 😑

The first one died because I accidentally planted it in my usual “well-draining” mixture of soil and tons of vermiculite and didn’t water it as often as it needed.

Can I avoid that this time by not using any vermiculite and just using a sloppy mix of manure and topsoil?

I really need milkweed for my pollinator garden and I got a really good deal on this (normally it’s like $26 for one plant, which I swear to god is like $10 more than it was last year).

There's still 13 days left, I think we can make it there.

Is this place really ran by all female staff?

There is no staff. Ovarit is run by volunteers in their free time. Our policy is admins are radical feminist women and only women can be mods. Anyone can contribute to the open source software and join the tech team. The admins know each other’s identities and we’ve video chatted with one another.

Can't answer as I'm not an admin or mod. It seems so. But we know there is no "staff" as they're all volunteers. And the money os not payment for their work. They paid out of pockets to set up this site, and the monthly costs go toward site maintenance.
