Advice WantedHelp. Have I doomed my lil tree seedlings to a life of confusion and special needs?

Once the outdoor growing season ended I needed something to do to stave off boredom and depression. So naturally I decided to start collecting tree seeds and germinating them in my bedroom. You know, like you do.

I have three lovely little honey locust seedlings that are just over a month old and roughly eight inches tall. Around the same time that I sowed those seeds I purchased one of those “grow your own Christmas tree from seed” kits at the supermarket, and I now have a little 1.5 inch Norway spruce growing as well.

However all of my little trees seem to have stopped growing. I’ve upsized their pots and replenished their soil to no avail. I have them under grow lights and on a heating mat.

Then I started doing some research and now I’m worried that my little honey locusts are going to die and/or be confused due to my germinating them during a time when they would naturally be going dormant, and that my spruce is all effed up because it’s naturally a cold weather tree and I’ve had it on heat. I guess I assumed that all trees needed warm soil at the start of their lives to develop roots! 😩

What do I do???

I don’t want to stick them outside because they’re just little babies (their stems are still green!) but I feel like I’ve messed them up for life by being dumb.

My house has an unheated back room that’s currently about 45F. Can I stick them back there or would that shock the shit out of them?

Help me save my babies! I’m so proud of my little plants and I don’t want them to die.
