Advice WantedPlanning help
Posted January 13, 2025 by Oktokki in Gardening

I just moved back to where water is abundant, and our new house has a decent-sized, fenced in (suck it, deer) garden out back. My Korean mom recently moved in with us, and because we're hella rural, I can't find a lot of the vegetables we use for making various kinds of kimchi, so I've decided to make this my Year of Not Murdering Every Single Plant and grow them myself. 😬

I plan to reach out to our local extension office next week and see what advice/information they can offer for the actual process of growing things - we're zone 4, so it's tricky up here - but in the meantime, I'd like to start getting an idea of what I could feasibly grow, and where it would need to go. Is anyone aware of planning software (I'm willing to pay for it) that would help me lay things out while taking into account factors like spacing and light requirements for non-typical vegetables?
