I thought the first quote was in reference to Americans facing issues regarding immigration - you know, a real issue where people actually have to be concerned about leaving or re-entering the country. But, nope, it's a man in drag throwing out hyperbole because they don't get to invade women's spaces in some states and locales.
Ever notice how TIMs exhibit a total lack of empathy for others who are much more vulnerable to regressive policies? I've never seen a TIM acknowledge the simple fact that immigrants and black folks and women of childbearing age have it worse. They always, always have to climb over the bodies of actual marginalized people to stake their flag on the summit of Mt. Oppression Olympus.
Oh, absolutely. They rush to co-opt the real struggles and hard won victories of groups who have faced real struggles, going so far as to fabricate the absurd claims of leading the Stonewall rebellion. Comparing not being allowed to use the women's bathrooms or change their sex identifier on official documentation to the Holocaust (which is likely the only genocide that they're aware of) is absolutely reprehensible.
Need a break from all the depressing things about being a woman in this world? This circle is for you!
This circle is for celebrating all the good news relating to women's interests (and by all, we mean ALL, even the things you might disagree with, e.g. achievements or advancements for women in the military, business, religion, etc.)
Rules:
Relevance: Women should be the primary focus. Posts about men being held accountable, found guilty of crimes, etc. are NOT appropriate for this circle.
Formatting: Posts should be actual news, preferably in the form of an article or from an official news source. Do not edit the headline of linked articles; if you would like to provide additional commentary, please do so in a comment.
Civility: Keep discussions on topic. Do not denigrate the achievements or advancements of women.
Promoting Infighting or Drama: Do not start or perpetuate infighting or drama. Disagreements must be civil and must be about the CONTENT of the post, not about the poster, other commenters, the site, etc.
