About a month ago, a TIM posted a selfie in the subreddit modestdress, wearing a tichel and Batsheva-style dress, hipster Orthodox Jew-style. He left a tee-heeing comment about to not look at his post history for modest inspiration. His post history is 100% his dick. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, he was still called stunning and brave.

I'd really like to see libfems twist themselves into knots figuring out how to unpack this hot mess.

Is this a stunning and brave transwoman just trying to explore the complexities of her faith and womanhood, or do we dare engage in gatekeeping and risk being transphobic to interpret this as an insult against women of color by a sexist cis white man?

Is this committing disrespectful cultural appropriation or do we have to accept that because TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN FULL STOP, this is 100% a Muslim woman so it's her choice to be empowered by her hijab however she wants to?
