Serious DiscussionAnyone ever have a nightmare that your partner leaves you for a man?
Just woke up from a nightmare like this. Somehow, my subconscious stirred up the worst case scenario for my current relationship.
My lesbian-since-birth partner decided she wanted to “try out men” in the dream with seemingly no regard to my feelings towards it. In the dream, I somehow managed to be around where they were and had to watch them be around each other. It made me sick. I sobbed uncontrollably in the dream.
It was a relief when I woke up in a cold sweat to my partner sleeping peacefully in bed next to me.
I know that, sadly, this does happen in real life. I wanted to post about lesbian nightmares here because scenarios like this feel so uniquely damaging to us. I occasionally have other nightmares that fall under the uniquely-awful-for-lesbians category, but I’d rather not talk about them here.
Does anyone else get dreams like this? How do you cope?
