Any one else terrified for america right now? I know there’s quite a few of us here that are blue and some red and some even purple, so I wanted to hear from my community of what y’all think about this.

I must preface this by saying I HATE politics. I just can’t stand talking about it, it just ends up getting shoved down my throat (both sides to me are like gender cult in thinking, as in, force it down your throat and if you don’t like it, then you have to shut up. Very great for lesbian women, right? 🙄/s)

But I am currently visiting my parents and I can’t get away from the republican discourse. I’m just wanting to have a break, like alll it’s been for the past few days has been about Trump, and now the hick fanfare for his VP. And I think we are just going down a hole of harboring more aggressive stupidity from the right.

Watching this nomination rally just makes me feel like I’m watching that one scene from Star Wars… “is this how Liberty dies? By thunder’s applause?” That may be a bit dramatic, but it reeks of cult vibe

It's very much just a socially accepted way to hate on women. It could say transphobe, but instead it's a female specific slur. Same with Karen.

GoodGoneGirlFebruary 2, 2022

TIMs will never experience that. And doctors should leave their religious and ideological beliefs at home. His badge should say woman repellent because women probably find him revolting.

Thats how we know its a misogynistic movement. They don't care about the males who commit physical violence against TIMs. All their rage is focused on females who just want a space to themselves.

I would not feel safe visiting a doctor like this guy

Definitely. I would be scared to have a doctor like that treating me.

So he's okay with men and conservative women who exclude trans people...

iwouldprefernot2February 2, 2022

Somehow all women who don’t cow-tow are magically terfs. Like all women over 40 who have an opinion or stand up for themselves are now Karens.

I'm sure he hates the conservative women just as much as the rest of us. In his eyes, "TERF" applies to all females who don't worship at the feet of TIMs regardless of their political leanings on other issues

I can't believe this is allowed in the UK. Here in the states, I don't recall ever seeing a doctor wear their politics on their clothing or anywhere in their office. And when I briefly worked in pharmacy, we were advised against even wearing things like cross necklaces because some patients might interpret it as a political/religious judgment (especially if they need something like Plan B). And every nurse I've ever spoken to has said they need be professional and keep their private beliefs out of work.

This modern need to constantly vent one's politics is so exhausting. Social media has really fucked up people's boundaries

I am in med school here and they give out pride and pronoun pins to make the LGBT more comfortable.

Good lord. Western medicine is going to be FUCKED in the next 10-20 years if this is how they're training med students

ArmedFemme🪖🎖️February 3, 2022

No, they make the T comfortable. I always cringe when seeing that stuff.

When I was fresh out of college, I referred a friend to the GP I found nearby. He flipped out at me afterwards because I sent him to a "religious doctor." I didn't even notice my GP had a tiny angel tie tack. It never came up at any point in my care, and I still don't know what religion he was, but it was a huge deal to my friend... A pronoun pin is just... Ugh.

I would bet anything that that doctor is ideologically opposed to the death penalty, based on humanitarian grounds.

And yet, women not wanting to get undressed in front of random men is somehow too extreme.

That doctor sounds repellent, all right.

Was this Adrian Harrop?

GoodGoneGirlFebruary 2, 2022

She didn’t name anyone but I found this while searching so probably. Didn’t he get suspended for harassing women?

[Deleted]February 3, 2022

Yes he did. Quite a big deal actually.

KissMyOvariesFebruary 3, 2022(Edited February 3, 2022)

This is likely Dr Adrian Harrop who has gone rounds with Posie, if anyone is interested. (It should still be on YouTube.)

Universities really are just handing out certificates now, aren’t they?

SulphuricMirrorFebruary 3, 2022

Males really shouldn't be allowed to practise medicine. They aren't good enough for it in so many ways.
