ImportantPolitical lesbians and bisexual women do not belong here. Reminder of Rule 1.

This is Rule 1 for the circle, copy and pasted:

"No content posted by people who are not female-sex AND lesbian (biological woman exclusively attracted to biological women). Lesbians will not be permitting participation by non-lesbian or transgender people. Non-lesbian in this case means anyone who is not a biological woman exclusively attracted to biological women. Partners of trans woman are considered bisexual in this space. All people who are trans or who identify as something other than 'lesbian' are encouraged to go somewhere else."

By the rules of this circle, lesbian means biological female exclusively attracted to other biological females.

If this does not describe you, then this circle is not for you.

Don't argue. I didn't make the rules.

Lesbianism is not a political opinion. It's not a hat you get to wear when you're feeling particularly angry at men or in love with women. It's biological reality, and it is not a choice nor has it ever been a choice. If it was a choice for you, congratulations, you're probably bisexual. Go to the o/lovingwomen circle. We deserve to have our own space to be among each other without hearing homophobic nonsense about how we chose to be lesbians.

Edit: Clearly this blew up. After reading the comments, I suspect that a lot the pushback is from people who for some reason think we are excluding bisexual women and political lesbians from the community of women who experience same-sex attraction. This is not the case. This is about THIS CIRCLE, where it is very clearly laid out that lesbians alone are allowed.

Now, there does also seem to be an issue where some people "lesbian" is the same thing as someone who is bisexual but has mostly been in same-sex relationships. Nope. Not the definition. And frankly I have a hard time understanding why some bisexual women here are so allergic to the label bisexual. There's nothing wrong with being bisexual. But if you are, you have a circle called o/lovingwomen. If you don't enjoy that circle, perhaps it is time for an o/bisexual. But o/lesbians, based on the rules here, is very clearly on for lesbians as defined by the rules of the circle.
