Rule 1 Update - Non Lesbian Ovarit Users, Please Respect This Space
It goes without saying that I share in the frustration of people who are not lesbians participating in this space.
If you are not a lesbian and you are reading this, I am asking you once again to respect this space and its boundaries.
As (mostly) women who agree that words have meaning and that women deserve to have their spaces respected, I am at a loss at the number of women who are not lesbians that participate in this circle.
I have noted many usual excuses, such as not reading the rules, that the mobile version doesn't allow access to the rules, that the topic is interesting and you felt a need to defend yourself as a heterosexual or bisexual. On the former, the circle is named lesbian and there is one (now two) stickied posts asking you to please respect our space. On the latter, o/lovingwomen exists and I promise you that you will have equally great conversations and can make your points there.
While I do not condone the escalation of issues in the past few days. Understand that, just as you respond to other GC issues where people encroach on your safe spaces, lesbians will also defend their right to a space. I will not allow bullying, but when participants ask you to leave when you reveal not to be a lesbian, please do.
Now
Onto rule 1. I have amended Rule 1 to also exclude political lesbians from this space because as other participants have voiced, that is not lesbianism, its a political choice. Lesbianism is a sexuality that excludes men by its own virtue, not by another influence.
