Love the show, find it really rushed though and to much music scenes, especially since its suppose to be the final season.
Absolutly adore Caitlyn though and bless them for making her actually into a lesbian (cause you know how showrunners are others would have make a certain scence with a man instead (not to spoiler anything)). Im already sad to say goodbye to her next Saturday when the last episodes drop.
My wife and I watched the second batch of episodes last night. I really enjoy the music and art scenes but I understand why people don't like them. I really I hope they tie up everyone's character arcs.
I have a feeling the whole Mel story wont be resolved in this show and is the lead up/teaser for the spinoff they said will happen. If not this is exactly what i mean by it feeling rushed, a lot of story lines could have needed more time and a slower pace.
I didn't know they were making spinoffs. I've avoided looking into Arcane on the internet because I didn't want any spoilers. I really hope they don't leave it on a cliff-hanger. There was so much time in between season 1 and 2- I don't think I can wait that long again and keep an interest.
I thought it was phenomenal from every angle and, to be honest, seeing lesbians not die and be in a relationship and on the way to healing was a big deal. It meant a lot. I thought the romance was artfully done too; at least to me it did not feel like it was goofy and just for men. It seemed natural and it was so nice to see an actual butch lesbian just… BE. Loved it.
Omg that scene…..🔥 I felt like they really put a lot of thought into Cait and Vi’s romance. I really enjoyed the slow burn and that neither of them died at the end.
Yes! I’ve seen so much rhetoric online about it but it really boils down to the audience wants everything explained to them and for anything with lesbians to conform to a specific set of moralities and conventions. I loved how flawed they both were and their responses to one another seemed authentic and believable. I have been sick to death of brain rot level media where people tell instead of show.
I can’t stand, tell don’t show. Just trust your audience to pay attention. So much in that show is nonverbals or little screenshots of something that foreshadows something else. You don’t need a bunch of dialogue when a simple glance can say so much more.
So, how are we feeling after this ending? 😆
Still think season 2 felt rushed and there should have been a 3rd season, to give all the stories more room and still in love with Caitlyn lol.
Same, lol. I've seen Vi get all the heart-eyes online but damn, Cait had my heart from the start.
I agree with @NeroAD- it was a bit rushed. I still liked it but I felt some stories zipped by and relationships from season 1 weren't really present in season 2. For instance, I was excited to see Jinx and Sevika teaming up. Even though they didn't get along, they were both grieving the loss of Silco and dealing with a leaderless undercity. I kind of wanted to see how their relationship changed but they kind of just go their own way. Sevika becomes a member of the council but you don't really see her character uniting Zaun. There are other dynamics I was kind of curious about that they didn't really touch on:
I know I seem like I'm shitting on the show. I guess I'm greedy and just wanted a little more 😆. Overall, I enjoyed it. I hope they make some more shows from this universe. I don't play LoL but it seems like there is a lot of source material to draw from.
Act 2 is simply AMAZING!! I was on the verge of tears😭
Love Arcane. One of my favorite shows and criminally underrated. Such a masterclass of visual storytelling; the character depth, the blink-and-you-might-miss-it level of detail in every scene. The lead lesbian romance is the cherry on top - an actual for realsies lesbian arc that is neither sexualized for the male gaze nor sterilized for the religious one, not even shoe-horned in for progressive brownie points. What a shock of a show given its source ha.
I'm working my way through a rewatch of S1 now and starting S2 when it's all dropped. I have high hopes the creators did it justice, they've proven how much they care about the story and were willing to give it the time to perfect it.
