TV and MediaWomen’s Sports Season is upon us

Women’s sports are championed by lesbian athletes. There are many reasons for this, and I believe it is primarily because sport is a great escape from societal norms on women. Here women are tough, bold, aggressive, and strategic playmakers. She knows how to use her body to her advantage, whether she is 5’11 or 5’2. She is part of a team, something bigger than her, something she can lead an impact towards a common goal.

Below are leagues that are coming into their 2025 season who have out lesbians playing:

-National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)- pre-season ends with the Challenge Cup, a one game tournament for bragging rights and a trophy on March 7th, 8pm EST on Prime Video. Reigning 2024 champions Orlando Pride host a championship rematch with Washington Spirit. The official season opener also opens with the Pride in Orlando, March 14th against the Chicago Red Stars.

-Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL)- admittedly, I don’t watch hockey, so I didn’t know their season already started. Nonetheless, there’s games on all this week.

-Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA)- First of all, congrats to Diana Taurasi on retiring. I hope she can do more funny broadcast commentary with Sue in the future. Preseason games start May 2nd, and the official season starts May 16th with the Washington Mystics hosting the Atlanta Dream. WNBA

I love the idea of women's sports, and hope that they do well. But watching groups of people chase a ball around a field bores the crap out of me. I grew up in a family of sports enthusiasts, but I just never got into it. I'm glad that you enjoy it, though.

At the very least, maybe getting into the interpersonal drama may be of interest to you? Haha, the love trails of who is dating who, who broke up, etc is a real life reality tv show sometimes

I'm looking forward to the Challenge Cup and the beginning of this season! And I managed to go to at least one of the PWHL games so far this season. It was fun!

Did you get a chance to watch the SheBelieves Cup recently? The US Women's team did really well, but the gameplay from Japan was on a whole different level! It was a good game to watch.
