We the lesbians of this circle have the ability to make this circle great in which we can give the positive representation that a lesbian would want/need in this lesbophobic/homophobic world.
The first step is to ensure that bisexual women stay out of this circle.
The second step to reiterate what a lesbian actually is and what a lesbian experience looks like.
Bisexuals and TIMS, TRAs, and straights will always try to take that away from us, but not here.
We can be the change for the lesbian community right here and right now.
No, women who claim they only date women but still like men/fantasize about men are NOT LESBIANS.
Women who are married to men/have BFs and want to keep them so they can have meaningless flings with women are NOT LESBIANS.
Women who announce that they are celibate from men and prefer female friendship as company in the name of feminism (polilez) are NOT LESBIANS.
Comphet while potentially a useful term if defined correctly was made to not be defined correctly and was made by a woman who is NOT A LESBIAN.
Comphet SHOULD mean: raised in a society in which anything that is not heterosexual is seen as taboo and not given a representative voice. Essentially lesbians in a patriarchal society are socialized to believe that men are the only option and any feeling that is not that must be repressed. THE FEELING NEVER GOES AWAY, because they are lesbians. They never experience heterosexual attraction.
What that bisexual meant for comphet to mean: it’s okay sweetie, there’s reasons why you were attracted to men, you can still be a lesbian hehe ✨
Combating lesbophobia is a hard battle but the more we speak up about things, the better this community will be.
