ventI think my cousin is lesbian or at least bisexual. We live in a Muslim country and she's Muslim

I visited her today, and we were talking about dating. She just turned 17 this year, and I'm going to be 20. I'm also bi.

So we were just talking, she said she's never dated anyone. I said good, because most men suck 💀 Then she said "I would really date girls, but that's haram." I was like wait what?? and then carefully agreed lol. She also said if it was allowed, she'd 100% choose women over men.

I used to say stuff like this before I realized I was bi. I remember saying "I really would date anyone, I think if you open your heart to it you can fall in love with anyone.... WAIT NO, not like that, I'm straight." I thought all girls must feel this way. Spoiler alert, they don't.

And I get the feeling, in a few years my cousin is gonna look back and think "Tf, did I really think I was straight???" I've been there. I'm sure most of us here have been there lmao.

But in all seriousness, being gay here is illegal. For her sake, I hope she's straight and just sick of men and boys, but on the other hand, it feels so nice knowing I'm possibly not alone. That someone I know irl, someone who is family, could very possibly also be like me.

I just had to get this off my chest somewhere.

I spit my tea out.

Edit to add because it fits well here:

I just saw "(non-binary, any pronouns are fine)" in a professional bio. I stared at the screen like 😐😐😐 for a full minute. She literally has blue hair. There's nothing about her that makes her sex remotely not apparent.

I would be tossing her resume.

She has a cushy job at a major U.S. academic institution. Sigh.
