hey mods and fellow lesbians and awesome bi women! would dating "profiles" that don't include location or selfies or anything like that ever be allowed? I know there's been requests for a dating circle or something of that nature, so I'm just curious! maybe a thread here and on o/lesbians where a woman just states her age interests what she's looking for, maybe a generic name (since like. there could be a million "Beckys" for instance)?

If horribly depressed lonely women get a cat and don't bother anybody and horribly depressed lonely men go on shooting sprees to kill as many random innocent people as possible, I can understand why one is considered an "epidemic" and the other isn't.
So I don't object to the "epidemic" branding. I object to anybody who tries to blame women for this supposed epidemic. If men bring nothing to the table that would make women want to be with them, then the men are 100% to blame.
"Male loneliness epidemic" implies though that the poor dears being "lonely" is the main issue here. It isn't. Their reaction to it is. "Male violence epidemic". Nothing new though.
It also implies the poor helpless dears are unable to do anything at all about it because they're at the mercy of some higher power, like a supervirus for which there is no cure. Truth is they don't want to be cured because they want to play martyrs.
Men spend their entire lives looking down on anything to do with emotional connection and intimacy and refuse to do any work toward being good people, then wonder why they’re alone…
They cry about how men aren’t allowed to show emotions(even though anger/rage is an emotion) or be vulnerable as if they themselves haven’t created and upheld those society norms.
They pride themselves on being emotionally detached and uncaring, even amongst their own friends. They focus all their energy on porn and then act shocked when their lives are devoid of connection.
And when they talk about wanting someone to be vulnerable with, it’s always women. I don’t know if it’s because they just view women as supposed to be their emotional supports or they don’t think you can be vulnerable in a platonic way. Why is it on women? Why can’t you form friendships with the same sex? (I suspect they simply don’t want to, but why? If they’re so damn lonely, wouldn’t friendship help?)

It says a lot that happily single women who don’t even complain about it are labeled as contemptible, but all the sad little manchildren who won’t stop whining aren’t. So many mediocre-at-best and genuinely unattractive men still manage to find women with low enough standards to tolerate them, it must sting to be so pathetic you can’t even win a consolation prize in a game that rigged in your favor.
Society really should save all their contempt for these men, the reasons they stay single are because they’re bitter and resentful losers who refuse to do anything productive about it—and unlike the childless cat ladies, they make their misery everyone else’s problem.
Even with the game rigged in their favor they still have trouble. I read that something like 80% of women reproduce but only 40% of men do. That’s owning or controlling pretty much every resource you can name and top of the sex hierarchy. We certainly don’t need as many as we have.
I looked it up and apparently that rate is true for human history as a whole, but isn’t exactly the case right now. It’s still true that more women than men are parents, though. Currently in the USA roughly 45% of men have at least one biological child while 57% of women do. That sounds more plausible given that a 40/80 split in this day and age would mean a relatively small percentage of men were getting multiple women pregnant at very high rates.
I’m sure the numbers would look different in other countries. Places like South Korea are beneath replacement rates across the board, while more patriarchal and less developed regions usually have more than one child per family. And of course, China stumbled its way into a demographic crisis with the one-child policy and has a generation of incels to show for it.

Yup. Men are severely emotionally immature. My brother says he personally believes men are more emotional than women, but they only think women are, because women have the ability to voice our emotions/feelings and talk things out while males only bottle up and release it in anger or self destructive outlets like alcohol
I think all emotions are human and common to both sexes, but women are more inclined to have and develop emotional intelligence.
And I think that's the case because we have to, for two reasons - first to protect ourselves, since we have to be hyper-attuned to the emotions of the men around us, and second to acquire and keep friends and allies, since we have little or no power on our own. (I live alone and support myself, but I'm hyper-aware that my income depends on the good will of the men I work with, so I know my number one focus to maintain financial security is to 'keep them sweet'.)

When I don’t like my life I change it. That’s what I tell my friends too (not that they listen to me - one friend got hospitalised with depression after I’d been telling her to leave her soul sucking job for three years. She found a new job and guess what). But change is hard, and whining is easy.
These men could start washing their asses, look up some info on how to dress casual nice, get dating advice from married guys and not guys with fedoras, or hell even women. They could realize a girlfriend doesn’t mean a mom bangmaid but yes, companionship. They could stop whining about sex, the least sexy thing a man can do.
I’m in the process myself these days - I’m looking for a new job because mine is burning me out, and I’ve started dating again because I miss being with someone. Yeah it’s not easy. But I refuse to get stuck in a rut. I refuse to just live to produce tax money and use services, lol.

The "male loneliness epidemic" gives me LIFE. I think it's great that more and more women are choosing to stay single and childfree. I love that more girls and women are using social media to learn about red flags and recognize manipulation.
