Several times in the last week I have seen explicitly biphobic and misogynistic memes and comments posted about bisexual women. Some of the things said include:
that the only REAL bi women (eg not "spicy straights") are those who are not currently with men or who identify as febfem.
the term 'bihet', which apparently means a straight woman who claims to be bisexual for attention but isn't. Then just say "straight woman"! Blaming bisexual women for the actions of attention-seeking straight women hurts bisexual women.
that bi women who ARE with men are lying about/exaggerating their same-sex attraction to bother lesbians, and that if a bi woman is in a relationship with a man, she is as good as straight and has no need of spaces where she can talk about her same-sex attraction. (Sounds a lot like "pick a side!")
that bi women have a higher libido than lesbians or straight women and therefore are at a higher risk of cheating, therefore lesbians should be hesitant to date them. Do I even need to explain how messed up this one is?
Look. I understand that many lesbians have had bad experiences with bisexual women and that when venting about those experiences, sometimes the things they say aren't going to be totally kind to bi women as a whole. But if lesbians deserve a space to rant uncensored, then bi women do too. We're constantly being told to "make our own spaces!" and not to "wait around and let the lesbians do all the work for you!" but we can't even get a circle here for bisexual women only?
EDIT: Several bi women have responded to this post agreeing that there is a need for a circle for bi women only. I do not have enough post history (I mostly read while signed out) to mod, but maybe someone else here does. Here's what girl_undone says:
Other things we look for: Do they understand the site (have they looked for the appropriate information where it is expected to be, do they follow the sitewide rules and guidelines without being told); Do they have good online communication skills (don't reduce nuance or overgeneralize things other people say, don't treat a group of individuals like a borg, make decisions that shift conversations to be more productive instead of less, send modmails to the appropriate parties with concerns or special requests); Do they act like good community leaders (bringing people together instead driving them apart, not acting like a troll or having the effect of a troll regardless of "intent", etc)
If you think you're qualified and you would be willing to mod a bi circle, please contact one of the mods.
EDIT 2 Post has been locked now, but in response to the sticky, I hope that mods will not totally dismiss the request for a circle for bi women ONLY. I don't want o/LovingWomen to be converted to that space as I still have hope lesbians and bi women can come to understand each other and a shared space is necessary for that, but the response this post got shows there is a clear need for that third space.
I hope he never stops speaking his truth. What a fantastic representative of the trans community! And with such refreshing self-awareness!
For anyone who is looking for subtle ways to peak your libfem friends (I see those posts occasionally) - here you go! Couldn't be better a gift if he'd wrapped it with a bow on top. Share this with any libfem who is kinda on the fence and let them make the first comment. Every female comedian makes crude sexual jokes. Not one woman in human history would ever come up with something this gross and creepy. This is a man describing an exclusively male experience. The loneliest woman ever does not relate to this. Look at him, listen to him speak and tell me with a straight face (and some self respect) that this man is a woman. If your libfem friend insists that this is a woman, don't argue. Just laugh. There's no point in engaging beyond laughing to acknowledge the patent absurdity. Laughter is extremely powerful.
Wtf he's supposed to be trans? So I assume he's trying to look like a woman??? LMAO are they even trying anymore? 😂😂 He looks like the greasy, creepy guy who hangs at the gas station drinking cheap beer at 10 am.
I guess now that I'm looking closer there's some lipstick? Butt honestly, all I see is this fella
His full get up always appears to be mini jacket, swishy skirt, knee high stockings, and high heels. No variations.
And all his jokes revolve around how much porn he's seen and how much he faps to them.
Well well well, if that isn't 100% of TIMs described in 3 words.
Yup. Repulsive and unoriginal too.
That's just a man dressed as a man. But of course that was the logical conclusion because if a guy is a woman because he says so, it really doesn't matter if he also wears a dress
Yup! I did as I was told and listened to transwomen like this and now here I am!
