-------SPOILERS-----SPOILERS-----SPOILERS---
Anybody seen this film yet? Been wanting to talk about it lol.
Overall I had a blast watching it, definitely another fan service type film but more self aware then say, No Way Home.
The TVA involvement was interesting(and hilarious), they are turning up to be big players, makes me want to watch the Loki series.
Paradox was so funny, obviously a bad guy but the actor just really made him great. Felt like a sitcom character but villainous, like if someone from the Office decided to end a world. His line to Pyro "why do you have to say it like that, it's just icky" in response to the standard movie dialogue( I need something from you if you want a deal) LOL.
Wolverine and Deadpool were so great, they played off each other really well. I actually felt like Hugh Jackman brought a different vibe to the character then his previous films which worked really well for me. His rage and also the straight man act to Reynolds Deadpool were great. Every time he looked on in disgust at Deadpool's antics, made it even funnier. Especially him calling out Deadpool basically having two dudes murdered lol(so long Van Milder lol(nicepool)). His monologue that tore Deadpool to shreds emotionally was some great stuff. The acting was chef's kiss on that. Perfectly delivered. And the fact that instead of leaving the van to fight they just kept jumping back in to kill each other.š They needed that Honda money.š
I also love how this films calls back to all the Fox superhero films, like those were the films before we got to where we are with superhero stuff. And I still like them! Elektra, freaking BLADE and been Gambit(the accent, my man Jeff really put his whole dialect coaching into thatš). Laura(x-23) back in the game, hope we see more of her.
The end credit scene of bloopers from the Fox X-Men films had me weirdly emotional, not teary, just very nostalgic. The jokes throughout the film really make it, like Wesley Snipes Blade saying he doesn't like Deadpool, and him going "you never did" as a call back to the nonsense that happened during the Blade movies. Bunch of other stuff in there that you had to have previous knowledge of but when you caught the joke it was good.
Also, short comic accurate Wolverine. That took me out, the way he just plopped outta that high chair.š
The film was just fun, I know it did very well at the box office, and the tone is what I expect from a Deadpool movie but I have to say the fanservice films gotta chill for a bit. Ever since the intro to the multiverse it's gotten too much. A Deadpool movie doing it makes sense tbh, but it's been a couple films now that have cashed in on audiences previous goodwill.
The Twitter comments section any time Mumsnet or Rosie Duffield are mentioned.
Just full on hate from wokebros and TW. The misogyny is quite something to behold. Mumsnet was trending today and the view from bots is that itās a āradicalised group of extreme fascistsā. Iām surprised they donāt suffocate under the weight of their own hyperbole.
