I really like Nicole Kidman as an actress, but this movie just doesn't sit right to me and I will explain why it's kind of problematic. It low-key reminds me of fifty shades of grey, a very popular movie that promotes porn in a very explicit way but everyone likes it because the movie romanticises certain topics such as BDSM. We are watching women once again getting manipulated and abused by men and pretend it's okay just because there's a love story. It only means for male porn needs and it conditions women to submit to men. I saw that the movie had a female director, Halina Reijn, which made me disappointed because she makes films that exploit females for males' benefits while there should be more movies about empowering women and not make them look like just a sex slave for men.
More like just sex offender. Conviction and report rates are so low. Most of these dudes never face consequences.
Otherwise 100% true
Hey look, a handy reference chart for navigating todays society. Also, funnily enough, a weapon capable of mass genocide. Better not let anyone see this, you'll be put away for a hate crime.
Did anyone else think of Ezra Miller right away?
While I feel safer with the "they/them" females, they still scare me. They are prone to meltdowns and (in my experience) self-harm.
Nothing like as scary as the males, but you are right the female NBs are scary in their own way. Meltdowns, tantrums, bullying, manipulation, emotional aggression (at least, this describes the one I know at work who tried to get me fired).
