The modernized Little Women movie from 2018
I checked it out recently, and I was so wrong about it. This movie was a fantastic modernization of Little Women. They changed just enough to make it current. But not enough to make it lose its spirit. And they were clever about how they updated elements like Beth's sickness and the dynamics of the March family while still keeping the movie timeless.
The only flaw is the Jo & Laurie and Jo & Professor Bauer relationships. But, sadly, that flaw was in the original novel. So they couldn't do much about that. LOL
I think its sad that this adaptation has been overlooked because another Little Women adaptation came out just two years later (and that adaptation got way more attention because it had Greta Gerwig and Emma Watson attached). So I wanted to give it some love and attention here. Please see it if you're a fan of the novel. Its a very interesting take. And I had fun seeing these familiar characters in a modern setting (even though I went in expecting the movie to be cringey and forced)
