Imagine helping afix the duct tape to your little girl's face to play along with the charade. You know her brother was goofing around, making faces at her. Maybe you can be self-hating enough as a woman, but to look your daughter in the face and seal her mouth shut for this photo op?

Destroying women is so pervasive and so normalized.

Who did all the Christmas shopping and who's going to cook your Christmas meal, sir(s)? Because we all know you sure as shit won't bother helping.

Rant: this is a Pinterest trend and lots of duplicates on social media.

Nice.

If she can’t talk she also can’t arrange gifts, stocking stuffers, holiday meals, holiday stuff

I’ll take the tape if I can just wake up Christmas morning and see what everyone got me

Who starts all the wars and has a monopoly on rape, violence, and death again?

What the hell? Is this a xmas card? were there any comments opposing this? what in god's name was the context?

This one first showed up around 2015 on an image aggregator and gets circled around this time every year as rage bait. There is no context and there are several more like it.

You'd think the women pictured below the men and below the viewer's eyeline would do enough work to show they are subservient and lesser than. There is a great discussion of an image just like this, sans tape, in the first chapter of Feminist Practice and Poststructural Theory that maps out how different feminist schools of thought interpret this very normative image. That is what it reminds me of.

I disagree that it’s “rage bait”. This was a trend started about a decade ago and there are numerous examples on Pinterest and I see it in my social media feeds every year, including this year. I didn’t post because I don’t want to be doxxed but this is a very real trend and while it’s thankfully not popular, it should be shares highlight how pervasive misogyny is.

Covert and overt examples within common cultural practices (in this case, the almighty Christmas card) are important areas to highlight because they provide examples of the normalization of women’s oppression. The kind that is so often dismissed and ignored.

Humanity i love you because when you’re hard up you pawn your intelligence to buy a drink and when you’re flush pride keeps

you from the pawn shop and because you are continually committing nuisances but more especially

in your own house

I feel like this would be more appropriate for o/translogic since this is a graphic. This is a bad joke about male violence.

cranberrysalad [OP]December 18, 2023

I wasn’t sure where to post since it’s not specifically trans logic.

somegenerichandleDecember 19, 2023

This is what the circle description says in bold

this circle is also to showcase the lies, fallacies, and misogyny of men in general, whether or not they are trans-identified. This can include MRAs, TRAs, or just your average Joe.
