What’s your favorite thing (or things) about Ovarit?
Posted June 8, 2022 by Committing_Tervery in Ovarit

I’ll start with a few of mine:

  • Sisterhood, women supporting each other, giving solid advice, being empathetic, having each other’s backs

  • Any comments that call women slurs or say things like “b*tching” are removed upon reporting, which is so appreciated

  • Trolls are shut down immediately, thanks to the amazing mods & admins who are on top of that shit

  • No gross males!!! Gah, I do NOT miss the gross AF usernames from them that I’ve seen on reddit and elsewhere. We have none of that here.

  • No men speaking over women

  • Along those notes, I greatly appreciate that there is still an invite code system!!

  • A women-run site, with all female admins and mods, and that will never ever change <3

  • Love for women

  • TRUE feminism

  • A space where we can talk about things like music, books, movies, and video games without hearing males dominate the convo. Isn’t it nice? Can’t get that on other spaces on the internet!!

  • Seeing female art :) /o/ArtsAndYarns

  • Learning more about women’s herstory /o/WomensHistory

  • Learning more about feminist history, and all the sacrifices and accomplishments made by our feminist foremothers.

  • The wonderful HUMOR!!!!! New terms for things, like “himpathy,” “testerical,” and so on. GC women are seriously the funniest people on earth. And humor is a great coping mechanism when things turn to shit.

  • Having a place where we can go to to talk about our deepest pressing issues when we have no one else... getting feedback & support from dozens of other women. It feels like one giant hug.

  • Along that note, seeing women give advice to women in situations, and then the OP will end up cutting toxic people out of her life because of the advice she receives (or doing something else healthy). It is very rewarding.

So, what are your favorite things? I know I have a long list, but I couldn’t stop adding stuff, since so much came to mind 😅
