I get that most users here hate Trump and the right, and blah blah blah. But I think we should really turn our attention to what has happened in the last week with President Trump and Parler.
You might hate their ideas, but guess what? Most Twitter and Facebook power users and employees in charge of this mass censorship see us the same way they see Trump and anyone that has slightly off-left ideas. Trump is going to be an old enemy in less than a month. Dems will be in full power. Where do you think they will turn their attentions on next?
Now admittedly all I know about Parler is that it presented itself as a Twitter alternative with free speech without sensorship. So it attracted some people that supposedly planned the events at the Capitol. Therefore it got removed from Google, Apple and Amazon platforms and immediately off web hosting. Yet Twitter was used to plan a lot of riots and violence in the summer and got off scott free?
I'm not trying to fear monger here, but as someone that was part of the original Gender Critical on reddit, I feel like it took us quite a long time to be able to regroup. I found out about Gender Critical on Saidit by sheer luck and there I learned about Ovarit. I love this website and the truth it showcases. I love the discussions from the users. It's still very tiny but I know it will slowly grow just like Gender Critical did. More and more people will peak and discover it. We will attract more main stream attention and there is a possibility that once again the community built on truth and women's rights can be stomped out. Yet I don't see anyone here talking about this. What can be done? How can we keep this community alive? What is stopping the server hosts from pulling the plug? What can we learn from the Parler cancellation?
