Thank you to everyone who donated in August! We really appreciate it and it's thanks to you that we're able to operate for another month.

40 ovarettes subscribed to donate or continued to subscribe to donate.

11 ovarettes made one-time donations.

7 people made donations via our Substack.

Our site funding goal was $1,000 and you donated $1,010.

Previously, our first goal was to have six months of expected operating expenses covered. We're changing that goal to having three months covered, which is where we were at and where we still are at. We have to start paying back our debt for the first 20 months we operated, so that is the goal we are focused on now.

Having a place where the truth can be spoken and reality acknowledged keeps me sane. As the commercial says, “priceless”. Appreciation going out to the team that makes it all happen. PLEASE support Ovarit financially, if you can.

If the monthly goal of $1,000 is used to only cover the cost of operating per month, does this mean you're technically "short" on financial donations still? At least until the expenses for those 20 months are covered?

We've raised enough to cover our ongoing expenses since we started fundraising, and to have cash on hand to cover about three months. Our server expenses have increased and we're treading water, even as we try to lower our expenses. We haven't made any progress towards paying back expenses from before we raised money.

That sounds... not good D: Would raising the monthly donation limit aid with this, or is it kind of "pointless" since it still depends on women actually wanting to donate that come in? The actuals for that have kind of already been "exactly at the mark, no more, no less" based on the last few months, which is a little worrying trend-wise despite the growing userbase and activity

It’s something we’ve been trying to figure out. It’s been hard for me to navigate since it puts me well out of my comfort zone and experience. Raising the goal seems risky since we may not meet the goal and would have to reconcile what that meant. We’ve already come close to not meeting the goal and that was really stressful. But obviously if we don’t try to raise the money, people aren’t volunteering.

Have y’all thought about introducing awards to the website? I know the website is loosely based off of Reddit would that be hard to introduce?

I think that would be a good potential revenue stream for the website. There’s been a few times here where I wish I could give an award to really insightful comments - I don’t buy them on Reddit but if they were sold on here I’d definitely buy them every now and then and I suspect other woman would too.
