Archives of Ovarit and Coordination Thereof
Hi, everyone! We are all interested in archiving Ovarit as a monumental historical achievement for feminism in the early 2020s. No way are we going to let Ovarit be lost to our herstory, as so many other women's achievements have been. As a result, there are at least several efforts of which I am aware to set up a mirror ghost site of Ovarit, and that is all to the good! Determined women get good things done.
This post is meant to help coordinate efforts. If you are archiving the site, describe your efforts in the comments, as well as details about how you are doing so, the parameters of the archive (posts, posts with comments, meta data only, etc.), and how stable the archive will be over time (for example, for how long do you have the funding to keep it online? Will you have a backup?), etc. That will help everyone who is trying to ensure we get a quality, long-lived archive to coordinate their efforts.
I am one of those who are working with girl_undone and also a professional programmer to get such a quality archive in place. I also bought domain names to help folks be able to find the archive easily on the web when complete. You can DM me for more information.
