We are the radfem meme circle
The Old Queen r/trollgc is dead, may she forever rest in power.
Long Live the New Queen at Ovarit: Radfemmery.
The Radfemmery is a place for users to share screenshots, memes, and gifs related to all aspects of radical feminism. We want to blur the line between being funny and serious, so that we can find humour and release in a world that's more often than not against us. Better to laugh than cry sometimes. All areas of radical feminism can be meme’d.
Moreover, The Radfemmery is where we gather round and share content from radfems/GCs meant for radfems/GCs. This circle is not for sharing the foolishness of TRAs, libfems, and men. That content belongs in o/TransLogic.
Updated as of 17 Apr 2022.
Posts can be removed by mods for any reason for the health of the community including ones that don’t land or are confusing.
Tip: If you aren't sure where a post should go, check out o/ItsAFetish and o/TransLogic to decide whether or not those would be better circles to post in.

NO text posts or copypasta.
NO linking to news articles or outside websites, even those satirical or sardonic in nature.
Stick to visuals.
NO PORN VISUALS OR TEXT (They fit better at o/ItsAFetish)
NO genital pictures, including neovaginas and neophalluses. Mastectomies and breast implants will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
Rule 2: Inappropriate Content

NO conversion therapy (aka Genital Preferences are Transphobic) or other right-wing, conservative talking points allowed.
NO joking about any and all illegal activity that could actually happen
NO talking about downvotes. For the love of all that is female, STOP talking about downvotes. Mods are sick of it. No griping about how many downvotes your comment or post got, or another person's comment or post got. Those comments will be deleted even if they accompany otherwise good commentary.
Rule 4: Redactions
Reddit names do NOT need to be redacted, neither do Chapo Chat names, etc.
Do not redact the Twitter handles of TRAs and misogynists.
Verified users are always fair game.
FACEBOOK NAMES NEED TO BE REDACTED
We do NOT protect misogynistic men and their sycophants. Record any and all misogynies.
Sitewide Rules and Sitewide Guidelines are enforced here.
Happy memeing~!
I'm really sorry i got suspended from reddit. I led that sub for a couple years. TSBHTLERO is indeed a man. I wonder what got to him and why he's leaving.
Hey, you did a ton.
I really did tow the line, self-censoring myself on that platform, much more than i am proud of. I was modding r/AgainstDegenerateSubs, r/PornisMisogyny, r/BanFemaleHateSubs, and r/NametheProblem. Oh, and my debate sub was banned for being unmoderated, r/PornDebate. It was tiny, under 2 or 3 hundred subs. And i left, r/antisexwork unmoderated, so i'm hoping sacredthornapple requests in.
I've mentioned it to a few of my friend IRL. They don't know the details, but i'm ashamed to admit the suspension. I've never been banned, never even have gotten a speeding ticket. And who am i going to argue with? One of the mods at r/ADS already asked if it was a mistake. The note from admin was that
I can still update my multilists and report posts. But, no DMs, voting, guilding, etc. And i could still remove myself as a moderator, so i did that as it's not a great look for the subs to have a bunch of suspended mods.
Mentally, though, the last month has been a good break. I've started a youtube channel and am still peer-reviewing things pornography related on my academia account. Which may out me as a SWERF IRL.
I donno about TSBHTLERO. I sensed things were erratic. r/ADS was banned for a week in Feb, so i tried to add more mods to the subs i was on. It was never his longterm plan to mod BFHS.
And the mod above him, GoldKitty, i recruited about a year ago. She is good and we are in touch on discord. It's not too much work to mod - 20mins a day maybe, or it wasn't before. It was really when i agreed to mod ADS that it became too time consuming for me. And btw, unless they've changed my automod rules, if a post or comment is reported a certain number of times, it's automatically removed. So, please report if the sub is taken over by trolls. PiM never had that rule set up before i adopted it.
How does modding on reddit work if you have some pointers?
I have some time to spare every day here and there. I used to moderate forums for a while, I'm just unsure how similar they are?
This was my intro text i sent to new mods:
Let me explain a bit about being a mod to you, and hopefully the other moderator has some follow up questions to add.
The main duty is looking through the modmail (https://mod.reddit.com/) and reply. Also review and assess the modqueue (https://www.reddit.com/r/mod/about/modqueue). It won't look like anything until you start being a mod, at that point it will become populated with comments and posts snagged from the automoderator. Mainly because the user has low karma or is new, but also if there is a triggering word on our list (gendered slurs, language that detect violence). These can be triggering, not to a huge extent typically for me, but sometimes for sure. There is also the spam folder, but i only check that occasionally.
Basic community building is important. Promoting the sub, being active, being level headed and transparent about decisions, and making posts in periods of inactivity. You can filter just your subs and check by new (https://www.reddit.com/r/mod/new) to stay active. Many users would like at least a response to their post. When things like locked posts happened, it is good to make a clear statement. There is a little button under the comments to 'distinguish as mod' and 'distinguish and sticky'.
There are also user tags and style settings. The style options are kind of hidden (https://www.reddit.com/r/BanFemaleHateSubs/?styling=true). Also options in https://www.reddit.com/r/BanFemaleHateSubs/about/edit/ and https://new.reddit.com/r/BanfemaleHateSubs/about. The wiki and automod can be edited too, i don't have the links at hand tho. I have them set up a little differently depending on the community. I've learned a lot in the r/automoderator sub, and modifying a rule is pretty easy (adding someone to the shadow banned list or adding a trigger word). The rules either action things as 'remove' (ie. spam folder) or 'filter' (ie. the modqueue). Others send a modmail.
I generally moderate using the old reddit design, so that i can use chrome browser extensions, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite and Moderator toolbox for reddit. Those speed it up for me, but not required of course. One feature of Toolbox lets moderators share notes about users so you will see who is a potential spammy user, etc. RES lets one save canned comments (ie. macros).
Thank you, that's some great pointers!
