Good to know this old dyke has people on her side at times like these.
TRAs are the biggest homophobes. Supporting conversion therapy isn't as "woke" as you think it is.
As a straight woman, I am disgusted by the number of straight libfems who will gladly throw lesbians under the bus. On almost every single important feminist issue, they just sell out to pornsick men for cool girl points.
Where did this attitude come from that lesbians are now privileged and that they face no marginalization or discrimination, that they're being big meanies not inviting the men to their uWu slumber parties? Oh yeah, from pornsick straight men. Demanding that lesbians have sex with men is pure homophobia and r#pe culture.
i dont think he libfems do it for nefarious reasons. It's just that straight AGP men have managed to hijack lesbian and gay institutions to put the focus on them through subterfuge. They know how to manipulate straight libfems just like the did gays and lesbians.
Straight white men (transbians) ran around accusing all the critical gay and lesbian organizations of racism; not because they were anti black but because they just focused on gay rights issues instead of "intersectionalism". And when white lesbians and gays, just like any other white group gets accused of racism, they hold their hands up like theyre being held hostage and willing to placate anyone to get the accusations to stop. so, what did the AGP men demand? Did they demand a bunch of black lesbians run their organizations? No. Did they demand to create policies for gay black men? no. They just shoved themselves in their to "run things" and called everyone Cis as if that means anything.
The woman's march had the same exact thing happen to them. The biggest civil rights protest in the history of america was that woman's march when trump was trying to remove as many women's rights laws as he could and that protest was hijacked by "intersectionalism". It was 99% white women who attended and it got hijacked by intersectionalists which ended up being a gigantic shit show of having been taken over by a group of people who were anti feminists like louis farrakhan. yes...louis farrakhan, who believes white people are the devil and that black people's problems come from the fact that black women didnt know their place within the patriarchy was there lecturing the attendees of that march whose whole focus was on women's rights...which were barely talked about because every other issue had to take precedence.
A lot of these organizations seem very susceptible to being hijacked if you just charge them with racism and even then, the solution is never related to the charge itself. Just look at stonewall, a lesbian and gay civil rights organization that booted its original activists and theyre all mostly straight AGP men now. It's shocking.
I appreciate your considerable insight into all of this. It all sounds like a total shit show of a "road to hell paved with good intentions." I do think straight libfems believe they mean well, but they are rather easily silenced by the threat of losing male approval and tend to take very weak stances on almost everything because of this- at least lesbians give zero fucks about male opinion in general, but as you pointed out, a lot of lesbian and gay political organizations are still quite sensitive to other accusations, like not being "intersectional" or "inclusive" enough, even when that turns out to mean... absolutely nothing except for letting white TIMS take over everything in sight to the detriment of everyone else.
The way white TIM "transbians" weaponize hollow accusations of racism is just as disgusting and as opportunistic as I would expect, especially because I have seen them say to black women online that "if YOU can be considered women, then we should be too" (excuse me, WTF?!) while screaming that lesbians need to love girldick...their audacity is unbelievable.
That's a great point also about how many black lesbians these "transbians" have actually worked to include in policy, which appears to be approximately ZERO. I am still learning about all of what's going on out there, so your comment was very insightful; I was speechless about that recent case of Emilia Decaudin, the white TIM in New York who pushed aside a highly qualified black woman candidate during a district election by getting the NY Democratic Party to dismantle their historical "1 male, 1 female" representation rule that was hard-fought by the suffragettes. Then he squawked about "promoting inclusion and engagement of people of color...who are often ignored" after he shouldered a black woman out of candidacy, and she appears to have years of experience in education and local public service (that he obviously doesn't have) and grew up in the area she was representing (and he did not). It sure would be nice if words were allowed to mean things-- racism, inclusivity..these should mean something other than being buzzwords that can be exploited by people who are not operating in good faith at all, like white "transbians."
The Women's March case you described was also very interesting. Libfems need to think more critically about what "inclusion" actually means- some whacko misogynistic religious organization screaming about black women being submissive did not have any business getting into the middle of the march, but again, it's like they were afraid to put their foot down, or thought it was "the right thing to do." This is why as soon as I even knew what radical feminism was, I knew I was a radfem, lol. I have a lot to learn, and I'm sure radical feminism is a work in progress, but it's ridiculous what is going on.
My homo heart can't take how adorable and heartwarming this is <3
