Somehow the washroom with fewer amenities is the "universal" one.

DoomedSibylAugust 29, 2023

Not to mention the fact that men aren’t erased and have essentially doubled their services.

LionessAugust 29, 2023

This is a very striking point.

This is so fucking gross. Instead of carving out a third space for the gender-specials (or making both toilets all access), they just took accommodations away from women (and young children)

This isn't about equality. Its about colonization

And it’s about eliminating the rights of women and enforcing that women cannot say “no.” Men will get what men want, period. Women’s boundaries will not be respected. Women’s concerns will not be considered. It’s the biggest step in history towards legally declaring women as subhumans and inferior to men. It’s all downhill from here if something doesn’t reverse this course, and quickly.

What it’s NOT about is inclusivity. It’s about solidifying male supremacy and the subjugation of women and banning women from standing up for themselves.

Why not just make BOTH restrooms universal? If women can’t avoid having men in there then what’s the point of maintaining one for men? Men are not the ones being threatened or put in danger. There’s a clear point being made that WOMEN must shut up and take it. Men aren’t being told that anyone/thing will now have free access to their restroom. This is about controlling women and stripping women of any hard fought protection earned. And they want to make sure women see that—they’re sending a clear message that men will make the rules and do as they please and women will have no recourse.

At this point, the men's room might be safer than the women's because at least the AGPs won't go in there

RighteousIndignationAugust 29, 2023

I'd use the mens as a point of principle, if anyone asked I would say I couldn't see a womans toilet but I saw a mens so I use that instead

knitsandhooksAugust 29, 2023

Yup. If an AGP is in the women's then I will use the men's. The men in there are only question marks, the man in the women's is a period and an underline. I know where I'll take my chances.

Women are at war (or should be) and most of us don’t even know it.

RighteousIndignationAugust 29, 2023(Edited August 29, 2023)

its not colonisation its subjugation.

Lilith-FairAugust 29, 2023

This is gross, and very depressing.

Did they just imply that only males use urinals? How transphobic.

pennygadgetAugust 29, 2023

I know right! 10,000 trans people just killed themselves because of that transphobic hate speech!!!

Lipsy•_____•August 29, 2023

They certainly implied that only males can use a regular toilet, or a baby changing station, that happens to live in the same room as a urinal!

All this proves is that it's all about men having access to women's bathrooms. If men were inconvenienced by women walking past them with their little pee pee's out, this shit would disappear swiftly.

They can't go with a what's good for the goose is good for the gander approach with this because men believe they deserve privacy and dignity but "non men" do not.

I wish she'd have posted the theater's name.

It’s the same deal at First Canadian Place in Toronto. The busiest food court floor has a multi user male washroom and a single user “inclusive” one (that’s what it’s called). The washroom directions sign depicts a man, a baby, a wheelchair user and a trans symbol (⚧️). Last time I was there, someone occupied the “inclusive” one long enough that I figured I should just go find another toilet… I had to go down two floors to find a multi user women’s washroom.

IdentifyAsTiredAugust 29, 2023

Ah yes, the two genders: male and universal.

RighteousIndignationAugust 29, 2023

sticker the shit out of it and use the mens and complain to the staff and never go there again afterwards.

pegasusknightAugust 29, 2023

Wow, does this piss me off.

AmareldysAugust 29, 2023

This cannot be legal

jessebelleinhellAugust 29, 2023(Edited August 29, 2023)

Hmm..one would think turning the men's restroom into a male only space is kinda "transphobic" towards tifs considering most claim to feel more comfortable using the men's room..very specific language for men while the former women's bathroom gets "universal"..it may as well say, " Anybody "

I can't say what I'm thinking out loud
