No joke, literally any local group on MeetUp that is for women, if you look at their comment page, there are always very active TIMs.

Carrots90January 29, 2022

It seems like the only activism they have is invading women’s spaces.

That’s it.

Not anti discrimination, not health care, just colonization

femlez34January 29, 2022

Yup, I wouldn't have a problem with them at all if they just wanted to do their own thing, start their own sports clubs, organize politically to reduce the violent attacks they get from other men, etc. Instead they want to take things that we had to fight for and reduce our safety. Just leave us alone!

Carrots90January 29, 2022

Exactly.

Women fought for special spaces. We fought so hard to get our own sports category. We are slower and have less strength in athletics.

It’s the price our sex pays for creating and maintaining society. There’s an evolutionary reason women outlive men too. Older women are stabilizing to a society

But it comes at an athletic cost.

Gladys_KravitzJanuary 29, 2022

I now seriously believe all this only exists because men are actually frightened of women gathering and talking without them. This is the equivalent of the CIA infiltrating groups to monitor their speech. Men are infiltrating in order to prevent us from gaining freedom from oppression. They are doing this specifically to maintain the status quo.

Carrots90January 29, 2022

They’ve always been so fascinated by us. They need to invade, ruin, control, just like CIA operatives

WatcherattheGatesJanuary 29, 2022

Precisely.

SkippylnotJanuary 29, 2022

I'm black so I join groups specifically for black females and I notice there's a lot less TIMs, if any. It's possible that that's because there's less black TIMs in general, but I think black women are more willing to kick them out/create our own spaces how we want lol.

TheLastUBenderJanuary 29, 2022

Lipstick alley is one of the few places online where I've seen really strong pushback on the TWAW ideology. They just wouldn't have it at all, lol. Wish the rest of us were as no nonsense

bluetinfoilhatJanuary 29, 2022

Black TIMs are generally gay and therefore are less obsessed with controlling women-- they just want access to straight men. LOL.

White TIMS tend to be straight and want to keep women from organizing and speaking negatively of men.

There are some Meetups that really are women only. But it takes a LOT of time and effort by the woman who sets it up and runs it. You really have to vette everyone very carefully. And you have to be uncompromising in gatekeeping, immediatley kicking out anyone who thinks larping men could ever belong. Women who think that sooner or later bring a man along. And they may be telling men where the Meetup hangs out or what went on at the last Meetup (which the man will wank to).

Fuck.

IrishTheFrenchiesay_wut?January 29, 2022

Holy shit. I did just as you said and the first women's group I chose I found this..... https://imgur.com/a/g0lhngO

And naturally, he's a member of a dozen different women's groups.

YoureNotaClownfishJanuary 29, 2022

Why is your face covered, Jenna?

SulphuricMirrorJanuary 30, 2022

Even wth his face covered he still looks soooo much like a man, it's so obvious lol. Horse-faced male in a body con dress. BARF.

Gladys_KravitzJanuary 29, 2022

Right??? Wtf is that

WatcherattheGatesJanuary 29, 2022

You really do come to the conclusion they are all unemployed and have nothing to do with their time except comment!

GeneralLesbianJanuary 29, 2022

What do they talk about on the comment page? I'm surprised they haven't done a selfish train. 🤡 🤡 🤡🤡

pissedwitchJanuary 29, 2022

Everyone is allowed to have their own spaces and make up words for themselves...except AFABs. There is not allowed to be a word for AFABs. We are not allowed to acknowledge that AFABs are a group that has collective experiences and interests.

WatcherattheGatesJanuary 29, 2022

That's the way to figure out who is at the very, very bottom of the totem pole.

Gladys_KravitzJanuary 29, 2022(Edited January 29, 2022)

Men are absolutely terrified of women gathering together and talking without male supervision. They are so insecure, they need to chaperone our conversations to make sure we're properly meek and deferential, to ensure we're not planning any "uprisings".

Kind of like how the CIA monitors political groups. They desperately need to maintain the status quo.

[Deleted]January 30, 2022

Yeah, we are planning uprisings. No seriously. Women need to take back this country (USA) from males left and right.

Gladys_KravitzJanuary 30, 2022

I was half joking, but lately I definitely feel this really palpable energy coming from women. It seems like women and girls are "waking up" left and right—and we aren't very happy with what's going on.

I hope it keeps building momentum and I hope we can actually achieve some sort of class solidarity among women. We're fired up and pissed off, somethings gotta give.

puppy_catJanuary 29, 2022(Edited January 29, 2022)

This is why I had to leave my adult women's autism support group. A middle-aged balding man joined and said he's "transitioning". He would talk over the group to where other women started mentioning him talking over us and how it was getting ridiculous. He also tried to ask me for my number multiple times after the end of group and kept giving me his. Him and his wife had divorced right after his "coming out".

Gladys_KravitzJanuary 30, 2022

Did the organizer say or do anything to address it?

nopenottodayJanuary 29, 2022

What about "AFAB" who "identify" as female? Basically just women who know they're women.

platypus [OP]January 29, 2022

whoa there sounds like hate speech

triceratopsJanuary 29, 2022

I feel this so strongly. I used to go along to different feminist meet-ups and got sick of the compulsory pronoun sharing (which I ignored). But more importantly, every single one of these groups was 50% trans or more. Seriously! I stopped going because I did not feel connected to these people. How can I as a SA and DV survivor feel comfortable sharing trauma in a room full of men???

[Deleted]January 30, 2022

What the fuck. No wonder I'm a fucking hermit.

TheLastUBenderJanuary 29, 2022(Edited January 29, 2022)

That is the aspect that I find incredibly creepy. How much more do you want to single white female our existence? I mean you'd think it is a total exaggeration that TIMs would even do that, given that they are a small group and shouldn't realistically be that visible.

Then you see reddit and realize that they did not leave a single subreddit for women (even for medical conditions, or just randomly female dominated hobbies) untouched or un-modded by some ...TiM, and realize that this is an actual problem.

My country doesn't even have self id yet, and there are already incidents in womens' shelters involving these dudes. One of them applied to a woman's shelter because of a dispute with a neighbour (wasn't a domestic violence situation), got in and behaved like such an arse towards the person in charge and the other occupants that they had to be forcibly removed. The woman in charge of the shelter signed off with stress. There's still a lawsuit pending.

overanddoneJanuary 29, 2022

I would have preferred the second "AFAB" comment was not a request. No asking. Just state. "OK then, we have an AFAB space"

ChaniJanuary 30, 2022

Maybe we should start insisting on spaces that are exclusively for AFAB agender people, formerly known as women.

platypus [OP]January 30, 2022

That's what I say whenever they call me "cis." No, by your own rules, I would be agender. By my rules I would be a woman, an adult human female. There is no universe in which the word "cis" applies to me.

Sometimes I think if we framed GC as an "agender rights movement" the TRAs would have absolutely no way to stop us. The thing is, 99.9% of so-called "cis" people are actually agender so...

CreativeUsernameJanuary 29, 2022

I've thought about making/joining support groups specifically for women. I figure saying "AFAB only" wouldn't make people mad because you can bring up how, objectively, "AFAB people" have different life experiences than "AMAB" people because of how society perceives them, but I've also heard it argued that those differences aren't "important" enough to exclude TiMs, so... :(

bluetinfoilhatJanuary 29, 2022

They will still complain and call it hateful.

YoureNotaClownfishJanuary 29, 2022

Just reiterate they are open to TIFs, non-binaries, gender fluids.... Not trans-exclusive at all.

platypus [OP]January 29, 2022

Vancouver Rape Relief is explicit in offering full services to "transmasc" people along with all other AFAB people. It didn't protect them.
