I swear that if this was any other group of people, the backlash would be immense. And you know what, as a blasian woman I fully support those consequences, but it needs to extend to TRAs as well. Who decided to give them, a majority white (and straight and male) group, a free pass?

I assume your question of who put straight white men in charge is rhetorical. They just have to wear a dress to turn from oppressor to most oppressed.

They know their movement can't stand on its own merits so they try to associate themselves with whatever groups society is already trying to help, like LGB people, intersex people, and POC. This one especially is such a stupid choice for them, they want to make it seem like feminists are trying to kick black women out of women's spaces and sports, but literally no one is trying to do that! We all look up to Serena Williams because she is a WOMAN. She deals with everything we deal with like recovering from childbirth, she's an inspiration. Zero women are born with the advantages that come from male puberty, even little girls know they can never grow up to be Lia Thomas no matter how hard they work.

[This meme is a screencap from the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. A short-haired black man in a white tank top faces away from the camera, looking towards a broad alley with fences on either side. The alley and the man are both labelled.]

The alley: TRAS COMPARING BLACK WOMEN TO MEN

The man: GC FEMINISTS

Subtitles: Ah shit, here we go again.

The whole "black women are comparable to men" trope is incredibly taken out of context. Nobody has ever, in any point of history, doubted that black women were actually not female.

At worst, the racist pricks say that black women are "masculine or mannish" or that they are not feminine, but never that they are not female at all. These things have also been said by homophobes about lesbians. Even the most racist dickhead can distinguish males and females among black people/POC.

It's especially hilarious how they call black women mannish when the rest of us literally copy so many things from black women, to the point women go under the knife literally. Not to mention how much fashion and trends are imitating them. It's ridiculous lol.

This was inspired by yesisaiditxx's comment on https://ovarit.com/o/TransLogic/74098/one-of-the-most-racist-things-i-have-ever-read.

This is just so infuriating, oh my god.

When the mask finally slips off, it falls allllll the way off, into a trash can, falling into a pit that is on fire and leads directly into Hell.

I have a question for the black women in here: I understand the primary offense here is the stereotype that black women are masculine (correct me if that's wrong). But, I'm curious... Are you also bothered by comparisons between racism and sexism when it's about actual women/male supremacy and doesn't invoke racist stereotypes like that? I know that some people don't like the comparison, but it usually seems to be people who don't think women are oppressed. I'd be appreciate feedback to know if there are non-misogynistic reasons that this isn't okay.

Because I find that a lot of white people understand that racism is wrong and know the specific manifestations of racism that they've been taught to recognize. But, they don't see all the parallels to sex and I think that might help people, especially white men, understand sexism/male supremacy.

Some examples: phrenology -> brain sex, Rachel Dolezal and blackfishers -> trans women
