EngineeringInstead of using master/slave terminology, I'm thinking of switching to Queen/drone
Master/slave is a term for describing hardware functions that has always bothered me. There has been a lot of discussion around moving away from using it, but in practice, I've found that older engineers still use it, and even more recent projects as well (I suppose for understandability).
I realized yesterday that it would be just as valid to refer to a master/slave config as queen/drone, after the hierarchy of bee colonies.
What do you think? Petty and unimportant, maybe. Satisfying to think about? Absolutely! I'll let you all know how it goes.
