This is but the tip of the iceberg. So many women contributed to nuclear and particle physics and cosmology, yet only four received the Nobel Prize. A number of them sat and watched men take the Nobel Prize for their work. We may not have been able to develop the atomic bomb without Lise Meitner's work on uranium fission. But her colleague Otto Hahn was the one who got the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
