Why e-brakes are dangerous (summary):
may short-circuit on you in an emergency and be useless
road conditions which may lead to short-circuiting (wetness being splashed on the underside and salt-water contact during winter conditions)
emergency situations occur during road conditions that short-circuit the e-brake.
can’t feel the brake (compare to mechanical brakes which you can feel)
more expensive to replace (compare to mechanical emergency brakes that just need to replace a cable)
