I quoted the title rather than change 'gender' to 'sex'. Clearly talking about biology, though, not "gender roles".
Hmmm. It probably helps that women don't spend all day looking at porn.
This is why I abbreviate my first name on GitHub. :/
Coworkers still know that I am a woman though, despite me never having to tell them outright that I am a woman.
Hmm this is a tough one, I feel like I'm maybe shooting myself in the foot if I don't make a new github that's gender neutral?
Meanwhile, women who don't plaster their pronouns everywhere are uninformed at best, evil at worst.
This is true. There is a popular software download site, where open source software is available for downloading and review. When I used a female user name, my software was unnoticed. With a male name, the software is very very popular.
I feel like I am a better coder because I care about functionality and documentations, I listen, and I don't spend my workday online playing and warring on twitter, so I have a personal life.
When working with female developers, I have run into zero ego/self aggrandizement problems, and they have all been generous with their time and communications to make sure the job gets done. Whereas any time there's been a serious personality problem on the team, it's always been a male.
