ComputingSimple Tutorial for people starting out with making personal offline archives of websites as WACZ & WARC Files!

Here's a simple tutorial of how to create your own personal offiline archives of any ANY website at all ( with the exception of Discord and the like ) and share it with others if you so wish too!

First you start up with making a WACZ or WARC File!

There are many ways of creating them but for now let us start with something simple!

Just copy and paste the site you want to archive in this Express ArchiveWeb site here and then download the archive! : https://express.archiveweb.page

That site will give you a WACZ File of the site you copied and pasted into it!

To open the WACZ File and see the archived content you can use this other ReplayWeb site here : https://replayweb.page/

Just choose the WACZ File on your device and then click on Load and there you go!

Now just click on your loaded archive and you can see everything in it! :)

If you wanna share your archives with someone you can either send them the WACZ File so they can download it and load it on ReplayWeb themselves on a site like Wormhole : https://wormhole.app/

Or you can host the archives somewhere online like on Glitch here! : https://ovarit.com/o/STEM/510775/host-your-own-web-archives-on-glitch

Glitch will let you host a project and share the link with anyone you want for free for 5 days without an account!

If you want something more permanent try making an account on Glitch!

It is a good idea to make a personal archive of something if you consider it important as even websites like the Wayback Machine sometimes delete stuff ( like the Fruit Farms apparently... ) ...

Have fun! :)
