Great episode.

The conversation also touches on the question of intersex conditions and how they have influenced elite women's sports, underscoring the need for thoughtful policies and guidelines to address DSD (differences in sexual development), ensuring fairness and inclusivity while respecting the unique circumstances of athletes like Caster Semenya, a South African intersex olympic athlete.

Why do we need to ensure "inclusivity" in sports? Females participate in female sports. Males participate in male sports. Everyone on earth is male or female. Therefore, everyone is already included in sports and given the opportunity to participate. From there, athletes are meant to be excluded from higher levels of competition. We aren't talking about T-ball here. Semenya doesn't have a "right" to participate in professional athletics.

Allowing male athletes in female sports excludes female athletes from opportunities that were made specifically for them. Semenya is a cheat who is fully capable of competing with male athletes. If his "unique condition" puts him at such a disadvantage to other male athletes as to render him noncompetitive due to that condition, then he should be competing in a paralympic category. This does not need nuanced discussion. It's extremely cut and dry.

This is an excellent episode of Gender- A Wider Lens, about women’s sports. The coach is Canadian. I didn’t know about her, but she seems based💪
