I've heard other, anecdotal stories about TiMs essentially killing other women's sports leagues. This is why the "there aren't that many of them" defense is bullshit. Even one TiM joining an intramural women's soccer league equals dozens of women harassed, intimidated, and injured.
And the general camaraderie of women just being together. I know most dude sports leagues are technically open, but come on, women can't compete to that level, so dudes functionally get that bonding experience, why aren't we allowed it?

I grew up in the era before Title IX, but lived in the mountains of Colorado, and grew up on the back of a horse, riding freely everywhere on roads and trails. I rode alone as well as with other girls who were my friends. I also belonged to a group riding club for girls. I feel so grateful for that experience.
Girls don't necessarily need organized sports to learn to know what their bodies are capable of, but they should have that opportunity without the interference of males. I think the day is at hand when this nonsense of allowing males to compete in women's/girls sports is over.

So here's how it works in the UK - the general rule is that you cannot discriminate. The Equality Act lists 8 protected characteristics and recognises that for some of those groups, identical treatment does not lead to equality.
So there are 'permitted exceptions' to the general rule of identical treatment. 'Sex' is a protected characteristic, and single sex exceptions are allowed for reasons of safety, privacy/dignity and fairness.
Single sex sports are named as a permitted exception in both the Gender Recognition Act and The Equality Act. Others include single sex rape crisis counselling, dormitories, and hospital wards; and it is also legal to restrict job applications for some kinds of work.
I really wish we could just reach critical mass of men taking over women's sports so that the elephant in the room sits on and suffocates any notion that they are women's sports anymore. I'm tired of waiting for it. I feel like we need to pull the band-aid off and see the wound for what it is. Then we can get to repairing women's sports.

It does make me a little sad that more life-and-death issues like men in women's prisons and DV shelters don't get the same outrage. On the other hand, it's only a matter of time before a woman is killed by a male competitor in something like rugby or MMA. This poor girl suffered horrific injuries in volleyball.
This makes me sad too, but I think the reason sports is the hot button trans issue is because TIMs simply being in women's prisons and DV shelters isn't constantly being celebrated by the media, but TIMs being in (and winning) women's sports is framed as "monumental" and "brave."
It could also be because these TIMs' winning scores in comparison to women's scores gives an actual numerical representation of how male TIMs are.

Yes, there are a lot of people who DON'T KNOW that this is happening in women's prisons. And TRAs want it that way, because once people DO know, there would be more pushback.
