Jon Pike is a British philosopher who works the men-in-womens-sports beat. A tweet of his from 5 days ago has stayed on my mind. It strikes me as useful not just for the sports debate but for anyone (esp public figures) who gets hit with trans logic. Seems the IAAF in its latest statement said "World Athletics does not judge or question gender identity". In other words, IAAF now will deal strictly with bodies, with biology, and you're free to believe what you want about gender identity. This is in contrast to previous policy, where the IAAF bowed down and showed the usual respect for the baseless concept of GI (while setting limits on DSD athletes). "I have no opinion on GI" strikes me as useful when TRAs and their allies like the NY Times start conflating sex and gender, as they always do. Or when TRAs start in with their nonsense about 'denying my existence'.
