I am not sure how to explain this its going to be long.

when you see a title for a post and click on it, it goes purple to show its been clicked on, but sometimes the title has a in-bedded link to a off site post that it takes you too rather then the entrance to the thread to see the comments and the link.

now sometimes I don't want to click on a link, I just want to read the comments or see if someone has posted a archive link instead as some sites I refuse to give the benefit of my traffic.

but if you click on the comments rather then the title for the post, it doesn't turn purple to show you have viewed it.

I think it should go purple to show its been viewed for both the title and the comments, makes it easier to scroll through things to find the ones you've not looked at yet.
