Members only circle?
Curious if there was/is a members only circle that is viewable only to registered users, or if there should be?
I completely understand that having this conversation visible is an asset to us as a whole because it highlights how illogical the opposing arguments are and it helps to enlighten any lurkers who are on the fence, but it might help keep some particularly sensitive information a bit more guarded when it comes to activism arrangements etc (especially after some of the aggressive incidents we have had happening to Radfems at UK meets).
...Plus you know that not being able to monitor every goings-on with will drive the TRA's absolutely bonkers. ;)

I’d even like private circles for other personal stuff - like pictures of our pets, for instance.
Yes great idea! May I also add; it should be viewable to not only members, but members who are above a certain level, as getting invite is fairly easy.

I really don’t want the site to drop the invite-only setting. Nothing is preventing people reading it (as we know from all the TRAs frothraging elsewhere).
I think this is a good idea in theory, but ultimately might grant the false illusion of privacy on the internet. It's important to remember that nothing is ever truly private or members only on the internet.
Perhaps have a warning to that effect in the circle?
Enough people pass by the circle descriptions and rules that I doubt a simple warning would be effective...
We have so many warnings and disclaimers, already, that people have not read or not understood. People who thought that the invite code requirement means this site is private and only available to people who have been vetted - neither is true.
This is a huge reason I don't want to make "member only" circles. It is really easy for people to get a false impression of how the site works, and disclaimers and info splashed in front of people do nothing to help. It is not hard for someone to sign up, and people need to take all their posts as seriously as if the stalkers were going to see it, every time. The invite code requirement is also temporary.
Good idea. As others have written, it could also be one for more personal posts and only be accessible when you've reached a certain level.
I would love this- I’m really only a baby account on here so I probably wouldn’t be able to get in just yet but there are some issues that need more privacy- health issues for example.
I would love this.... Especially as the site grows and more circles are added. For instance o/Fitness is good to discuss general training aspects, but what if you want to share progress pics? A private circle would make that feel much more safe to do, even if blurring faces should probbaly be encouraged still in case of hackers etc.
Please,we really need this. I was having a mental breakdown and it ended up in the front page of gencyn.
