I didn't see where this has been suggested before, so I apologise if it's already been addressed. I was curious if we could have a feature where we could add other users as friends or to follow their posts. There are a few women on here who are making regular posts on topics I'm interested in (like the woman breaking down the responsibilities of different volunteer work), but I have no easy way to flag them. I'd like to be able to view a feed of just women I'm following when I want to get a quick update on what's going on here.
I also would like to be able to add friends on here because I am not great at remembering names, so sometimes I see a username that seems familiar but I can't remember if the past experience I had with them was positive or negative and I'd like to be able to make a point to carry on friendships with particular women or to see what they had to say while I was gone on a break from this site.
I see that this could potentially be used to single out particular women and creep on them by lurking men, but if they wanted to do that and they have an account here already they could just save a username and look up anyone's history anyway.
Does anybody else have thoughts on this?
This has been brought up before. I’m unsure about it. Reddit recently rolled out something like this and people are using it to more easily harass people off of the site.
I wonder if there's a safer way to do it? Like maybe users can only follow another person on here if the person approves them? That way we could all vet who follows us before accepting. I just know I'm missing out on things I'd like to see here because I can't and shouldn't be online all the time.
