I really love Tatiana Maslany (I know she is a TRA but Orphan Black was so good and I like the audio version they are doing as well) and was at least vaguely interested in She-Hulk. But having read the linked Daily Beast article... I will 100% watch this. This scrote is so terribly triggered even if he was right about the new Thor being bad (I believe the legal term is "cash grab"). Here is the archive

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is Marvel Trash at it Most Offensive the Daily Beast

Some high (low?) lights :

Left with what I’d assume to be thousands of dollars in law school debt (that’s never mentioned; I’m just trying to add the color to her character that the writers forgot to)

The moment nearly made me Hulk out and throw my television through the window. It’s bold of a show to think it’s this witty without ever landing a single punchline. She-Hulk is filled with these kinds of indolent jokes, plucked from the ashes of the Greta Gerwig-starring, abandoned How I Met Your Dad spinoff from 2014.

Lol.

How come the She-hulk isn't... hulky?

I asked my GF, who's a huge comics nerd, the same question. She said even in the comics, she-hulk is a lot smaller than the hulk. 🥲

Small sure… but why does a she hulk need to be curvaceous and not bulky? She isn’t even Princess Fiona levels of equivalent

She is kind of a half hulk. She gets her powers via blood transfusion with her cousin the hulk.

That way she can stay slim and sexy

They literally always do this. Watch any shows with aliens and the female aliens are nearly always half-human so they can dilute the make-up/prosthetics.

Huge huge huge pet peeve of mine. Men can look cool and weird and "ugly" in these alien roles but god forbid the male viewers aren't attracted to the female alien.

Body- or brainwise?

The CGI really is lacking and I don't understand why her curly hair switched to what someone in the comments call "Barbie-straight" when hulking out, but here's the quote that will keeping me watching:

Jen speaking to Bruce: Here's the thing, Bruce. I'm great at controlling my anger. I do it all the time. When I'm catcalled in the street, when incompetent men explain my own area of expertise to me. I do it pretty much every day because if I don't, I will get called emotional, or difficult, or might just literally get murdered. So I'm an expert at controlling my anger because I do it infinitely more than you.

Feels like a woman wrote that part.

That speech felt super forced to me. The writer just prattled off a list of trendy feminist talking points and didn't even try to make it sound natural

I don't think this review was unfair. He pointed out both the negatives and positives in an even handed way..

There are plenty of scrotes losing their shit over this show. But this dude doesn't appear to be one of them

Oh... I liked the new Thor movie, lol

Similar to how they did here with She-Hulk, they had Jane be kind of a better Thor than Thor.

ETA: Jane becomes Thor in the comics, so it's not as if Disney made that up for the money.

Not thrilled Jamil is in it, but I love Maslany and will try it.

This is the only show I considered getting Disney+ for, now that I know it hurt some dude's feelings I'm sold!

I just saw the first episode (and thus skipped most of the article to avoid spoilers) but that one FUCKING RULES.

Scrote's complaining about the blood-power-transfer and genetic inherited hulkability when the whole MCU started with a dude frozen for 70 years who woke up without any issue or grey hair and adjusted just fine into 21. century society? A world where magic, aliens, super powers and a super duper wooper metal that SaFeS KiNeTiC eNeRgY exists? With time travel, multiverses and dimensions and ~quantum stuff~?

I love her. She put Bruce in his place, she showed clearly that men and women are different ehem , she had experienced catcalling and mansplaining and talks about that, she has a bestie who got her back, she's smart af; the only thing that confused me is her curly-human-but-straighty-with-beachwaves-hulk-hair.

The show is also written and directed women (according to the names, so i could be wrong) and I would like to know whose kitty I have to eat to get the entire series now. Thank you.

when I saw captain marvel with almost all men, they complained she didn't "earn her power" since she just got hit with a power blast or whatever. I had to go super geek on these nerds to point out bitten by radioactive spider, super serum injection, and otherwise "hit by radiation," like the hulk, is pretty standard for superhero powerups. Literally all mutants are born that way lol Them and this reviewer have a problem with a woman superhero if they had zero problem with those things. But, sure this guy just has problem with the logic of it. Men gonna men.

Carol is my personal queen. I cant wait for the second movie.

This is what I thought when I read that! I haven't watched yet but once men started writing those kinds of reviews it was confirmation I have to watch! Thank you for the review and I pray you have to eat zero kitties!
