Antifeminist programming starts early in the media
Posted January 22, 2023 by 17throwaways17 in Television

I'm watching monster in law as a throwback and didnt realize until now that the "evil mother in law" is an older woman getting ousted out of television who was forced to interview a ditsy sexualised teenage girl and is getting replaced by another younger blonde ditzy woman and shes seen as a the crazy older lady who reacts badly because she is upset that these would be the people influencing future generations when she built her career on interviewing presidents and following politics and "the significance of roe v wade"

She gets "put away" for getting upset..

and then after ALL that, they turn her into this "fake feminist" who is evil because shes against women who work as dog walkers and wanna stay at home and calling women wh*res and whatnot.. They tear apart and make a powerful woman in the media look like a psycho because she "couldnt keep a husband"

like goddamn.. THAT is your antagonist? gotcha.

OP, I appreciate this thoughtful, heartfelt post. I'm going to try to be less careless/casual in making the comparison.
