DiscussionDisappointed in IASIP lately

I know not everyone's a fan of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - it took me a few times trying it to actually like it.

I view the show as highlighting terrible people doing terrible things and not getting rewarded for it. Unlike other shows with terrible protagonists, the joke is almost always on the main characters and when they actually have to interact with others their bullshit is called out pretty quickly.

But I feel the last few seasons the writers (RCG) have gotten ultra woke and pandering to woke fans and now what's left is a show that only makes fun of women.

Like: Early seasons: characters are racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic

Recent seasons: characters are misogynistic, but decry racism, transphobia, and homophobia

In early seasons it was played to "these people are terrible and these things are wrong" but the later seasons.... especially in light of some of RCG's comments.... it's just like, okay, so you're trying to make a more woke show? But you can still make fun of women?

And of COURSE the showrunners are male, and the main female in the group is the one now being shown as the only, hold out racist (when in the early seasons it was the reverse).

Anyone else understand what I'm saying? I dunno.

I feel like IASIP was always a polarizing show but this is ridiculous.
