I know this is late to the game, but I just watched Netflix’s Ultimatum: Queer Love that came out a few months ago. On the show there is a butch lesbian named Aussie who is the perfect embodiment of the type of woman the gender cult targets. She identifies as NB and uses her chosen name “Aussie” as her pronoun, however at age 42 she says she’s still questioning her identity and implies she might go full FTM one day. Excuse me, but shouldn’t she know what her gendered soul is by 42? I thought people were born trans after all? Anyway her parents don’t know she’s a lesbian despite her big age and being financially independent from them. Having parents like that would give anyone internalized homophobia, but also like way to out yourself on a hugely popular TV show — not dramatic and poorly thought out at all. Throughout the show we see her have huge mental breakdowns that are frankly uncomfortable to watch. She shuts down or bursts into tears at the slightest criticism, no matter how gently it’s delivered. She also often refers to herself still as a kid and it’s clear she’s stuck in her childhood trauma. She has that same deeply pained look Ellen Page has. I feel sorry for her, but also I wished her partner ran for the hills at the end, because Aussie has issues that need to be fixed before being in a relationship with anyone.

So here we have this adult woman who is obviously mentally unwell, very confused, very emotionally immature for her age, and dealing with deep seated trauma…so like I said she’s the PERFECT target for the gender cult. She needs therapy, but she were to go, she would likely be more harmed than helped. She would be fast tracked to surgeries and hormones as a promised quick fix to all her problems. And for a while being NB/trans will give her many maladaptive outlets for her issues — she’ll have something to distract herself from all the trauma and an avatar to mask her hated true self. It will also give her power over people by making people use her ridiculous pronoun, which when you’ve been disempowered as a child is very addicting, but so unhealthy and narcissistic. Finally, if heaven forbid she does go full trans it gives her a socially acceptable way to self harm through surgeries and steroids. But eventually she’ll still have to face her demons and when she’s finally ready to who knows what damaged would be done to her body? This is why I don't think even adults are truly capable of consenting to these surgeries -- they are too mentally unwell. Thankfully based on her instagram she hasn’t yet gone full trans yet and hopefully she never will. NBs are annoying AF but at least they prevent some people from getting harmful surgeries and hormones so I guess that’s something…

Anyway I thought she was an interesting case study for TIFs. The show was pretty good for a trashy reality TV show and thankfully they didn’t include any TIMs masquerading as lesbians.
