Has anyone else watched this? It's by Mindy Kaling. The title sounds very pornified and aimed at getting clicks from men. I just finished watching it. I kind of liked it, but there's some very libfemmy (as you'd expect) things, like a lesbian character running the women's/feminist center on campus calling one of the main characters a "cis white bitch"...sexist slurs, so progressive.

But the thing I had the most problem with was the fact that one of the main characters is trying to get into a prestigious club on campus to advance her career, and she's told the men on the board only accept admissions by friends and people they like, so she gives multiple men hand jobs to be admitted....they show her being enthusiastic about it and treating it like it's no big deal. Later on, when she's passed through multiple tiers of the process via her talent, one of the higher up guys in the club (not one she's given a hand job to), gets her alone, tells her he wants to show her something funny, and just puts on porn (I've experienced this type of situation myself...very realistic), and she feels weirded out and just brushes it off. Eventually, another incident happens where he gets her alone again and tries to inappropriately rub up against her from behind. She's rightfully offended and reports him.

But is this not the worst possible mixed messaging? Jerking off strangers is not the crossing of women's boundaries? It's almost as if sexual interactions with random men come with inherent negative implications and risks and servicing men shouldn't be depicted as "fun". Where's the logical consistency?

I'm a white feminist woman. If my existence is offensive to you, I'm fairly okay with that.
