It only came out on Thursday but I am helping a sick relative so I watched it all in one day. It takes place in 80s New York City. I have only been to NYC twice so I only know it from shows like Sex in the City or The Bold Type.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I would love to discuss when others have watched it.
I just see a lot of the themes of "activism" similar to TRA/hand madeins who support blindly others who are actively out to destroy them. (TIMs destroying womens rights).etc.
While Trans ideology is not covered bc it is set in the 80s it also brought up for me the republican vs democrats of today and how I have no idea how I am voting in Nov.
I wonder who developed this and if they were trying to make points about today's societies.
Hello!
So I did manage this series this weekend.
Vincent is a virtue signaller. Vincent has a show teaching children about values. Vincent espouses all these marvelous views and holds himself up on a pedestal while judging others. However, when it comes to parenting his own child, he is a horrible parent and doesn't practice what he preaches. Vincent is also one of those people who can afford to fail as he has very rich parents.
The story of the detective Michael is sad. When he went to see his boyfriend in hospital and they asked if he was family he had to flash his police badge so he could see him. That is what life was like for gay people and also his boyfriend's sister demanded he vacate their apartment by the end of the month.
There is a pedophile racket going on and the chief of police covers up the murder of a fourteen year old. The mother of the murdered fourteen year old is right that people don't worry too much about missing black children.
As for voting, I don't think I can vote at all this election. Trump I would never ever vote for. Biden's title IX changes which are all to benefit TIMs are being swept under the carpet prior to the election. Still men on both sides of the political aisle demanding control of women.
Hello! I have just started watching and replying so I can find this thread again. Might take me a bit more than the weekend though.
Among other things - Vincent position on being a homeless activist even if it means his own child can not walk safely to school!.
When in the end his father tries to explain how he the father is trying to make the city safer - Vincent says he will not speak to him again. It parallels to me the TRA Hand Madiens who will like the ones at the swimming pond in the UK. It was women who joined the TIMs to push to make the pool women and men who claim they are women. I wonder at what age will these women/girls realize what they did.
This idea that some folks were entitled and that some folks were discriminated against means the discriminated can take over and be lawless is ....... I don't even know what word.
Vincent is denying his son and other the freedom that so many of us had. The feeling of being safe in your own neighborhood.
