DiscussionCould you live in Black mirror season 3 episode 1 "nosedive"?
This episode has always facinated me greatly. I watch it again from time to time because the world in it is so immersive. It feels like it's not even that far from the system we currently have, only real difference is that in nosedive it's quality over quantity, as currently it doesn't matter if you get dislikes or likes, people watching you is views and views are everything. An actual rating system could grant women so much safety. Dangerous men would quickly gather themselves very low ratings and their low score would serve as a warning for other women. Of course it wouldn't be a perfect system and it could go terribly wrong with there still being some bias to rate women lower. I just like the idea of being able to give low score to every man who harasses you and every TiM you see on the street. I'm really interested in hearing what you guys think of it. What would you do in that world? what do you think your rating would be? would you survive?
